My Approach
With expertise in addressing anxiety, panic, depression, dissociation, trauma, psychosis, relationship distress, sexual or gender identity concerns, personality issues or concerns, chronic pain, sleep disturbances, neurodiversity, shame and negative cognitions, Marcus is committed to providing a supportive and understanding environment for healing and growth through insight and emotional processing.
Marcus specializes in the application of depth psychology to the alleviation of attachment and developmental wounds. Passionate about de-stigmatizing life's struggles, Marcus works to help clients understand patterns of self-destruction or negative self-fulfilling prophecy and and recognize and harness the strengths they possess instead. By fostering a therapeutic relationship built on trust, honesty, and authenticity, he supports clients in connecting with their deeper experiences and understanding how their attachment patterns and historical narratives may be impacting relationships and activities of daily functioning in a comforting and supportive manner.
Highly client-centred, each session is tailored to follow the client's lead, ensuring personalized care that meets the client's emotional world where they are. Although Marcus works predominantly psychoanalytically, he is also trained in emotion-focussed, cognitive behavioural, somatic, and solution-focussed therapies, including motivational interviewing and strengths-based psychological coaching, in addition to mindfulness based stress reduction and mindfulness based therapies and coaching.
